Description
One More Story Games is an independent games developer and publisher providing tools to emerging and established storytellers to create and publish living, breathing interactive story worlds.
History
Early historyOne More Story Games (OMSG) was founded by husband and wife team Blair and Jean Leggett in 2013. After 10 years at Electronic Arts (Vancouver) and Zynga (San Francisco, Dallas), Blair returned to his hometown of Barrie, Ontario to start his games company. If Blair is the visionary, Jean is the evangelist- together, they trained 18 co-op programming students from Georgian College and raised over $250,000 to develop StoryStylus, their proprietary game publishing engine. Original co-founders include Keith Brewster, Sutherland Booth, Jacqueline Richard, Robert Berry and Matthew Rowlandson.
CollaborationOn February 16, 2016, OMSG announced that they will be collaborating with #1 New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris to adapt her novel Shakespeare’s Landlord into an interactive story game due for release in early 2017. Ms. Harris is best known for her Sookie Stackhouse novels that were adapted by HBO into the True Blood television series. Ms. Harris’s novels have sold over 36 million copies worldwide. In 1996, she released the first of the dark Shakespeare mysteries, featuring Lily Bard, a karate student who makes her living cleaning houses. Her most recent series, Midnight, Texas, has been picked up for pilot by NBC, and her Aurora Teagarden series is currently a TV movie series on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
StoryStylusWith StoryStylus, interactive story games can be created by solo storytellers or collaboratively. No previous coding experience is required, only great stories. The fundamental building blocks of an interactive story game are people, locations, items, events and interaction. Using StoryStylus, storytellers can easily input these as text, graphics (illustrations, photographs), and media (audio, movie files) to create the aesthetic of their story world with little to no previous coding experience. Storytellers can create and share content or submit work for publishing to OMSG’s marketplace for delivery on web, mobile and Facebook. Key features: branching narrative, customizable user interface, serialization of content, player decisions impact subsequent stories, translation tool, built-in marketplace for monetization, curated content
